Science Slam, it is an alternative way of communicating scientific content to the broader public by throwing the formal academic way of communication overboard. The focus is to make science understanable and touchable again and to to share the excitement and the beauty of research that cannot be found in scientific publications. Science Slam is a new and growing culture, which has found its home in many European university towns.

We are happy to invite you to attend the first Istanbul Science Slam with support by Scienceslam.de and German and Turkish participation. A total of 10 participants will perform 7 acts as follows:

- Nils OTTO (University of Münster, Germany) on Drosophila as a model and tool to approach biological problems
- Manuel MAIDORN, (University of Göttingen, Germany) on high resolution microscopy
- Ahmet Bugra TUFAN  (Bogazici University, Istanbul) on regulatory pathways in cancers
- Ece GÜLSAN (Bogazici University, Istanbul) on quantum physics and inflation theory
- Canan HAS (IYTE, Izmir) on the growing field of bioinformatics
- Canan Sayitoglu (Sabanci University, Istanbul) on immune cell development, and
- Cansu, Begüm, Asli, and Burçak (Bogazici University) on neurodegenerative disorders.
