Recovery of the Banking and Financial Sector after Covid-19.

The lecture will present the results of Prof. Beck's and other leading scholars' current research on the US concerning how banks have performed and about firms' access to funding during the crisis. The presentation will also cover findings on firm behavior in emerging markets during the crisis. The webinar will be forward-looking and address to policy issues, including capital relief and other regulatory measures, support by governments, monetary policy measures, and preparation for future losses. This part will strongly build on policy work Prof. Beck is currently doing at the European Systemic Risk Board, hosted by the European Central Bank.
