Bu akademik yılın altıncı paylaşım toplantısı Prof. Dr. Levent Kurnaz'ın "Küresel Isınma için Toplumsal Bilinci Arttırma" başlıklı sunusu olacaktır. Çalışmanın özeti aşağıda verilmiştir

Özet: İklim değişikliğini oluşturan sebepler mekansal ve zamansal olarak sonuçlarından ayrı gerçekleştiklerinden çözümü zor bir problem oluştururlar. Sera gazları atmosferde her tarafa düzgün yayılırlar ve sadece üretildikleri yeri etkilemezler. Daha da önemlisi, etkilerini hemen değil gelecekte görmeye başlarız. Bu nedenle geleceğin yetişkinleri karşılaşacakları sorunlar hakkında temel bir bilgiye sahip olmak zorundadırlar. Bunu da gençlere iklim değişikliği hakkında bilgiler vererek sağlayabiliriz. Bu amaca hizmet etmek için 10-14 yaş grubuna yönelik ve eğitime yardımcı olmak üzere video ders serileri ve ek kaynaklar hazırladık.

The sixth seminar of this academic year will be given by Prof. Levent Kurnaz. The title of his talk is "Raising Public Awareness about Global Warming", and the abstract is given below.

Abstract: Climate change is a difficult environmental problem in that the effect is both spatially and temporally dislocated from the cause of the effect. Greenhouse gases are distributed well within the atmosphere and they are not localized, therefore they do not only affect their immediate surroundings. But more importantly, we do not see the effects now, but many of them will be apparent in the future. Therefore the adults of the future, must have a basic understanding of the issues facing them and this can only be achieved by informing our youth about climate change. To serve this purpose we have prepared a series of video lectures and supplementary materials for the age group 10-14 to be used in education.
